   ... Contractors and Temps

Hot Jobs
Senior Account Manager
E-commerce Manager

Since 2004 Solutions have offered contract and temporary recruitment for clients and candidates.

These roles are often to cover a diverse range of projects or busy periods. There are some key differences between contract and temporary work, these being:

What we do

Contractors
Contractors are employed for a set period or to provide cover for an absent employee. Contractors paid on a pro-rata basis are placed on the client's payroll on commencement of employment and if either party wishes to terminate the contract they must give notice. Companies use contractors for a number of reasons:
  • To contribute during busy periods
  • To cover for absences
  • To assess the contractor’s viability for permanent employment.
  • To assist with special projects
Temporary
If you're trying to re-enter the workforce, between jobs or seeking diverse work environments, then temping may be for you. It is a way to broaden your skills and enhance your CV whilst having the flexibility to look for a perfect position. Technological advancements have made temping a strategic part of many companies staffing plans and it’s a fantastic way to network and gain new skills whilst keeping your independence.

Ultimately contract and temporary positions can be beneficial for a number of reasons including:
  • Increased flexibility – Contractors have more control over when and where you work.
  • Time to find the perfect position – You have the opportunity to be pickier with permanent roles as you are earning money and the sense of urgency is not so great.
  • More variety - Contractors often change roles at least every two years leading to a richer set of experience.
  • More Money – Contractors typically earn more than their counterparts in permanent employment.
Contracts are also very commonly used to cover maternity leave and this is a great opportunity to gain experience in different industries and projects plus there is always the potential for contracts to progress to something more permanent

If you are interested in contract and temporary positions then drop us an email with the subject CONTRACT ROLES PLEASE to make sure we notify you about new roles that we get in.
