More and more customers are now looking for companies with green policies to buy from, work for and invest in.
Research has found that people are more and more interested in the ethical and social responsibility of a potential company rather than just it’s service offering. By actively promoting your commitment to going green and reducing your organisation's carbon footprint, you enhance your brand image, attract new clients, enjoy higher profits through lower operating costs, whilst benefiting from improved productivity, staff morale and retention.
It isn’t just your brand that will benefit from going green but you’ll also be protected to a greater extent from energy price increases. As it becomes more and more of a legislative issue, you will also be shielded from increased insurance rates etc.
There are thousands of changes you can make of your organisation, some requiring very little effort at all.
* Get a recycle bin and make sure people use it! You’ll be amazed at how much you’re saving.
* Start a car share incentive around your company.
* Elect an employee to be your green guardian to ensure you’re all doing your bit.
* Simple things like turning toilet lights, pcs, printers and photocopiers off at night will make a huge difference.
* Work out how much your spending on lighting and heating so you can work out how much your saving.
* Perhaps the most important starting point to going greener, though, is to change your thinking.
Remember that when you are doing all this things make sure you’re potential customer know about it!
We’re doing our bit here at Solutions by recycling all used paper and when we re-branded recently, instead of throwing old branded communication away we gave it to a local nursery so the children could use it for colouring in!
Let us know how you’re company are doing their bit!
