I was lucky enough to attend the CIPR ‘How to win awards’ breakfast this morning to find out how contenders should write an award winning application and what the judges are looking for. Amongst the breakfast tea and pastries I managed to pick up on the following important facts!
So what are the benefits of winning an award?
- It can generate more business (one former agency won a large pitch directly from the awards.)
- It’s a huge motivational and morale booster for your team.
- If you’re in-house it gives you the chance to be given the recognition you deserve for being an exceptional PR team.
- It can raise your profile within the area and can get you ahead of the competition.
- It’s a great talking point, from press releases to email sign offs you’ll be able to let clients know just how brilliant you are.
There are of course lots more advantages for entering the CIPR awards and if would like to find out more about entering, then just follow the link http://ciprprideawards.com.
The CIPR Wessex region awards are taking place on 29th October 2009 at The De Vere Hotel in Southampton, and it’s set to be a fantastic evening.

If you’ve heard about the CIPR awards but aren’t sure about how to get your company involved, the CIPR are holding a ‘How to Win awards’ Breakfast in The piano bar, Dock Gate 4, Southampton tomorrow. The breakfast is from 9:00am till 10:00am and will cover the benefits to your company for winning awards right through to how to fill out a winning application form!
We'll be there, so if you come along, don’t forget to come and say hi!
The CIPR PRide Awards recognise excellence in PR and communications across the UK. These awards grow year-on-year as consultancies and organisations increasingly recognise the benefits of industry awards, and past winners continue to reap the benefits of receiving one.
